There is so much more to maintaining and caring for skin than just showering and applying lotion daily. In order to achieve smooth skin, you must exfoliate with a scrub or body polish. Adding an exfoliant to your skin care routine will have you feeling softer than a baby's bottom.
6 Tips for Exfoliating
Start with a clean slate by exfoliating after you cleanse your face and/or body.
Use an exfoliating tool and/or body polish for 30 seconds in a circular motion.
Rinse the skin with lukewarm water to prevent the skin from drying out.
Apply a moisturizer after exfoliating so that the skin can retain moisture.
Exfoliate before shaving any area of your body. It will help prevent bumps and ingrown hairs.
Do not exfoliate if you have any cuts, open wounds, or experiencing any skin irritation such as sunburn.

What is exfoliation? Your skin naturally sheds dead skin. Exfoliation is the removal of dead skin cells that is on the skin's surface. If you notice your skin drying out or becoming flaky, it may be time to exfoliate. Removing the build up from your skin will allow it to breathe and rejuvenate, giving your skin a nice healthy glow.
What parts of my body can I exfoliate? Everywhere! Yes, and I mean everywhere. Get in the habit of exfoliating from head to toe!
What should I use to exfoliate? You can use an exfoliating brush, wash cloth/glove, sponge or even make or purchase a natural exfoliating scrub/body polish.
How often should I exfoliate? Exfoliating everyday can strip the skin from its natural properties. I'd recommend exfoliating once or twice a week and during the warmer months up to three times a week. If you start to notice any skin irritation, limit the amount of times you exfoliate and/or find a product that is right for your skin!
